St. Rafe's Joins Cigna

NEW HAVEN - The Hospital of Saint Raphael and the Hamden Surgery Center have joined the Cigna HealthCare network of managed-care providers. A wholly owned subsidiary of Saint Rafe's, the Hamden Surgery Center opened in May 2000 to provide outpatient surgery. It has four operating rooms with a minor-procedures room, pre-operative and post-anaesthesia care areas and dedicated play and recovery areas for pediatric patients. “The additions, said Cigna HealthCare President Kurt A. Weimer, “strengthens our network in southern Connecticut.” Cigna HealthCare has more than 300,000 Connecticut members.
