A preliminary marketing pitch to overcome East Hartford's image as a dog-eared community has been devised by First Experience Communications. Town leaders would like to remedy misconceptions with an aggressive pr campaign touting the good things to be found east of the river. In brief, East Hartford is trying to join the ranks of other municipalities that have turned around public perceptions. With the right promotions, officials say, businesses will want to relocate to East Hartford, then families will follow and eventually the town's grand list will grow. The image makeover could cost over $75,000 once fully implemented.
