NEW HAVEN - The first contest encouraging Connecticut businesses to poke fun at their own interior design faux pas is being launched statewide.
The Interior Disaster (ID) contest targets victims of interior design blunders. Aimed at identifying outdated, boring, disorderly, tacky or otherwise disastrous interiors, competitors may win image makeover services from SAVI By Design, LLC.
Whenever consumers experience your physical business, you can seize this chance to make a positive impact, says SAVI principal Allison Kalloo. Businesses should bear in mind that the consumer psyche is vulnerable to all kinds of stimuli - color, lighting, aroma, arrangement, pattern, sound and texture - both overt and subtle. Business space should be memorable for image-affirming reasons.
Any business registered and operating in Connecticut for at least a year is eligible for contest entry. Several winners representing various industries will be chosen to be spruced, feng shuied or overhauled as appropriate.
ID Contest rules, information and entry forms can be obtained by contacting SAVI By Design, LLC at imagesavi@mindspring.com or by phone at 203-785-8030. Deadline for entry is August 30, and winners will be announced September 21.
