WASHINGTON, D.C. - Latina Style magazine, a monthly targeted to Hispanic females, has released its 2001 survey of the top 50 U.S. companies providing the best professional opportunities for Latinas. More than 600 U.S. corporations were survey using criteria including: number of Latina executives and directors, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, dependent/child-care support, leave for childbirth, alternative work policies, benefits, women's issues and Hispanic relations.
One Connecticut company - Stamford-based Pitney Bowes Inc. - made the top 50, according to the magazine. Other top 50 firms with a strong Connecticut presence include Aetna Inc., Cigna Corp., FleetBoston Financial and SBC Corp.
