Firm Moves Headquarters
MIDDLETOWN - McCarthy Convention Contractors has moved its corporate headquarters from East Haven to a new facility at 478 Timber Ridge Road in Middletown. The new facility, more than three times the size of its predecessor, houses the company's administrative offices and warehouse facilities for fabrication and storage of trade-show exhibits. The company's primary business is the management of trade-show exhibits and displays for small, mid-sized and large businesses.
Orange Realty Earns Achievement Award
ORANGE - William Orange Realty, located in Orange and Woodbridge, recently received the Million Dollar Club Award at the 2001 RELO Conference. The award is presented to member companies who participated in referral transactions with an actual sales price of $1 million or more.
Record-Breaking Sale
GUILFORD - Joe Piscitelli of Coldwell Banker recently set a new record for the sale of residential properties. The Vineyard Point residence in Guilford sold for $4,080,000, the priciest single-family residential sale ever recorded through the Greater New Haven Multiple Listing Service. The waterfront home will be used as a weekend retreat. Another waterfront property of eight-plus acres, also in Guilford, sold for $5,850,000. A single-family dwelling will be built on the site.
LEASES
CEU.com, a provider of multimedia-based Web courses for insurance edcuation continuing credit, has leased 1,100 square feet at the new InfoTech Center @ New Haven, located at 116 Court Street. The center has been owned by 124 Court, LLC since 1997.
M.F. DiScala & Company, Inc. has announced the following leases: 300,000 square feet of warehousing and distribution space to New England Warehousing/Pace Motor Lines located at Progress Distribution Center, West Haven; 62,000 square feet of warehousing and distribution space at Progress Distribution Center in West Haven to Smurfit Stone Container; 43,000 square feet of warehousing and distribution space at the Progress Distribution Center to Town Fair Tire; 30:300 square feet of office and high-tech space at Millennium Business Park located at 699 Middle Street in Middletown to Flo Tech; and 30,000 square feet of warehousing space at Millennium Business Park in Middletown to TBC Tire.
Levey Miller Maretz has announced that Jimmy's, a clothing and footwear retailer, has leased 10,000 square feet at the West Haven Post, Route 1, West Haven. Jimmy's facility includes 5,000 square feet of retail space and 5,000 square feet of warehouse. Steve Miller represented the landlord, West Haven Post LLC, and Jimmy's in the transaction.
Also, Levey Miller Maretz announced that the Community Crusade for Children has leased 5,000 square feet at the East Haven Shopping Center at 75 North Frontage Road, East Haven. The 160,000-square-foot center is anchored by National Wholesale Liquidators. Steve Miller represented the landlord, East Haven Association of Philadelphia, and the tenant.
Matrix One Inc., a leading software company, has leased 28,000 square feet of office space in Corporate Campus, 476 Wheelers Farm Road, Milford. Headquartered in Chelmsford, Mass., Matrix One is moving a major division now housed in 10,000 square feet in Shelton to the Milford site. Ted Hampe of HK Group, Westport, and Bill Krasnow of Cresa Partners, Boston, Matrix One's brokerage representative, represented the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield's Kevin Foley and Jodie Dostal were exclusive agents for Crown Properties, the new owner of Corporate Campus.
SALES
Press/Cuozzo Realtors has announced the sale of 514 Chapel Street and 81 Chestnut Street, located in the Wooster Square section of New Haven. The building houses of 2,400 square feet of main-level commercial space and two large residential units. The building will be converted to general office use and occupied by a graphic-design firm. Albert Scafati of Press/Cuozzo represented the seller, the Longobardi family, while Ron Mazzacane of Coldwell Banker represented the buyer, Group C.
Also, Press/Cuozzo brokered the sale of 370 Whitney Avenue, New Haven. The six-unit apartment building closed for $275,000. Press/Cuozzo was sole broker in the transaction. Stephen Press represented the seller, the Crane family, while Joel Nesson represented the buyer, John DeCrisstofaro.
The firm also announced the sale of 205 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, a 26,000-square-foot, multi-tenanted three-story office property. The seller, the Maharishi School Ayur-Ved Inc., was represented by Jim Johnson of Dow Realty. Stephen Press represented the buyer, Whitney Building LLC. Sale price was $945,000.
Levey Miller Maretz has announced the sale of 34 Raccio Park Drive, Hamden to OVNA, LLC. The property houses a 22,425-square-foot industrial building that is fully leased as well as 66 self-storage units. Steve Miller and Glen Greenberg represented the seller, Filcon Associates of Hamden, and the buyer.
George J. Smith & Son Commercial & Investment Real Estate has announced the sale of the professional office building at 266 Broad Street, Milford. CAPX Realty, LLC sold the building to physicians Perry and Gary Opin of Milford. The pair plan to relocate their orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic offices to the new location following extensive remodeling. Carl Russell of George J. Smith was the sole agent involved in the transaction.
EXCLUSIVE LISTINGS
Chris Nolan and Dave Melillo of H. Pearce's Industrial & Commercial Division in North Haven have been named by the Dana Corp. of Toledo, Ohio as exclusive marketing agents for 9,985 square feet of Class A general office space at One Hamden Center, 2319 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
Frank Hird of OR&L Commercial has been appointed exclusive leasing agent for 10 Fairfield Boulevard, Wallingford, a 43,200-square-foot flex building with 26,000 square feet available for lease. The available space includes 21,000 square feet of newly finished office space. Also, Hird and Jeff Kravet have been named exclusive listing agents for 66 High Street, Guilford. The 57,000-square-foot office/industrial building is offered for sale at $4 million or for lease.
CONSTRUCTION
Borghesi Building & Engineering Co. has been awarded a contract to construct a 7,080-square-foot building addition for Lab Security in Bristol. Lab Security Systems manufactures lock tumble pins and servicing kits.
