NEW HAVEN - The state of Connecticut, in association with DaimlerChrysler AG and Yale University, sponsored New Entrepreneurs & the Global Marketplace, an international technology conference that took place June 21-22. The conference focused on entrepreneurs in the new economy and examined the ways cutting-edge technologies can change and influence the economic landscape for generations to come.
The two-day conference brought together international experts in business, manufacturing and e-commerce, leading Yale faculty in engineering and management, and key officials from the public and private sector. Sessions also provided information and resources to help businesses succeed in today's challenging global market. Senior executives from Connecticut, the northeastern U.S. and Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany also attended.
The conference emerged from Gov. John G. Rowland's trade mission to Germany last September, where he vowed to build upon the existing economic and academic ties between Connecticut and the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
