The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) in Hamden have awarded participants in the design and construction of the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital the 2001 CBC Project Team Award. The team comprised Danbury Hospital, HLM Design Inc. of Chicago and the Morganti Group of Danbury. The project required two discrete renovations: a 15,000-square-foot renovation and upgrade of the Radiation Oncology Department, and a 20,000-square-foot renovation of the hospital's first floor.
Other teams recognized for their team work included: the Village at Fairfield University, Robinson Green Baretta of Providence and Gilbane of Glastonbury; Old Campus renovations at Yale University, Kenneth Boroson and the Whiting Turner Construction Co.; Bershaw Boswell Community Center in Westville; Chapel Haven, Pelizza-Robinson Architects and Petra Construction; Brunswick School of Expansion in Greenwich; Brunswick School, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Turner Construction; Purdue Pharma Project in Stamford, Purdue Pharma, Architrave Designs and Turner Construction; and the Learning Corridor in Hartford, Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance, Jetter Cook & Jepson and Gilbane.
