TransAct Technologies Launches New Printer

WALLINGFORD - TransAct Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: TACT), a producer of transaction-based printers, has introduced a new Ithaca Series 1500 POSjet color inkjet printer that employs TransAct's patent-pending validation and check printing features. The printer was launched at the Retail Systems 2001 Conference and Exposition in Chicago last month.
The new printer prints on forms that can be inserted in horizontal or vertical orientations. Using standard or rotated print, this new printer can validate variable sized one-ply forms or it can print the full front or back of a check. The POSjet 1500 prints 12 lines per second - 144-percent faster and 75-percent quieter than the industry's leading impact printer, the company says.
