BRANFORD - Brothers Tony and Marco Conte have opened a new eatery, Pesce, at 2 East Main Street. The carte du jour focuses on intercontinental cuisine, especially northern Italian and southern French. House specialties include polenta, sweet corn chowder, red snapper and chili-rubbed pork tenderloin. The upscale restaurant has a clean, crisp décor with an emphasis on food presentation.
With 20 years of hands-on restaurant experience between them, the Conte brothers started out slow, putting their efforts into the food and keeping appointments simple. Since then they have added plush banquettes, new carpeting and tiled floor with the idea of designing an atmosphere that is both modern and elegant.
