BOSTON - The New England Council, a six-state business group, last month launched “Citistates,” a research project intended to examine the state of New England business and begin to prepare an economic-recovery agenda for the 21st century. The project will be captained by the Citistates Group, headed by columnist Neil Peirce. The group will interview leaders of business, academia, government, the non-profit sector, media and other community leaders to chart the course of businesses and business growth in the region over the next decade. Major sponsors Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Massachusetts and the Boston Foundation are footing the bill for the project.
