WINDSOR LOCKS - Bradley International Airport set a new record for passenger enplanements in February, with 545,633. That number was 5,514 more than passed through Bradley during February of 2000, and represents the airport's 35th consecutive month of growth. Air travel nationally actually dipped by half a percentage point in February due primarily to a slumping U.S. economy.
U.S. Airways led all Bradley carriers with 136,821 passengers for a 25-percent market share. Delta carried 118,195 Bradley passengers, or 21.7 percent of the total, followed by American with 63,702 (11.7 percent). Relative Bradley newcomer Southwest followed closely with 62,674 passengers, or 11.5 percent of the total.
