New Name for One-Stop Centers

BRIDGEPORT - The WorkPlace Inc, has renamed its three One-Stop Centers in Bridgeport, Ansonia and Stamford. WorkPlace administers job training and preparation and coordinates training and education to meet the needs of residents and employers in the 20 communities in the Valley-Bridgeport-Norwalk-Stamford region. The Workforce Center is the new name for the centers, and their marketing slogan is “Your Employment Network of Choice.”
According to the WorkPlace President and CEO Joseph M. Carbone, “The new name and tag line send a clear message that the centers are about and for the businesses and working and job-seeking people in our region, and that there is opportunity and quality service at our centers.” JobLink Inc. is the contracted operator for the Workforce Centers. The new identity for the centers does not replace JobLink, which is an independent, private corporatation.
