Former senior vice president of the Coca-Cola Co. Thomas G. Mattia has been named chief communications officer at Yale University. Mattia will also serve as special advisor to university President Richard C. Levin, overseeing the university’s Office of Public Affairs. Mattia has an extensive career in communications, starting as a journalist before moving to corporate communications in 1980 when he joined IBM. Most recently Mattia retired from Coca-Cola, where he worked since January 2006.
