Citizens Financial Group appoints Dennis Devine new

U.S. Retail Banking Director

Former National City/PNC executive to lead CFG’s retail banking operations

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Citizens Financial Group, Inc. today announced the appointment of Dennis A. Devine to lead its U.S. retail banking division as Group Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Banking, effective February 16.

Devine will oversee CFG’s more than 1,500 traditional and in-store Citizens Bank and Charter One branches throughout its 12-state retail footprint in the Midwest, New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

"At CFG, we are focused on developing deeper relationships with our commercial and retail customers," said Ellen Alemany, Chairman and CE0 of CFG and RBS Americas. "Dennis will play an integral role in the development of retail products and services that broadly meet the needs of our customers, and enable us to meet our strategic goal of becoming a top super-regional bank."

At CFG, Devine will oversee a retail banking division that is committed to providing helpful banking solutions for its customers.

Last year, CFG introduced innovative products such as HomeBuyer SavingsSM and CollegeSaverSM to help customers purchase homes and pay for college educations. Recently, it expanded its industry-first Green$enseprogram, which rewards customers cash for helping the environment by reducing paper-based transactions, to include credit card purchases.

As the second-largest in-store banker, CFG provides customers access to seven-day banking with extended weekday hours at 480 in-store locations throughout its footprint.

“We are excited to have an executive of Dennis’s caliber and experience join CFG,” said Vice Chairman Martin Bischoff, who heads Consumer and Business Banking at CFG. “We look forward to his leadership as we continue to enhance customer convenience and provide helpful banking solutions that make a meaningful difference in our customers’ everyday lives.”

Prior to joining CFG, Devine was Executive Vice President of Retail Banking, West Territory, for PNC (formerly National City Bank), where he oversaw nearly 800 retail offices. Before joining PNC in 2003, Devine was an associate principal at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he counseled senior executives worldwide on high-profile strategic initiatives.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to be an integral part of an excellent organization that puts customers at the heart of everything it does,” said Devine. “I’m energized to join the CFG team and ready to make a contribution to the bank’s already outstanding

record of helpful customer service.”

Devine graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in economics and political science.
