STORRS — The conservative blog CampusReform.org has released a profile of the political climate at the University of Connecticut as part of its research of the nation’s top 100 universities. The Arlington, Va.-based groups concludes that a liberal political bias predominates at UConn based on the school’s faculty, student organizations and administrative policies.
“Liberal” student groups at UConn outnumber “conservative” ones by 14 to five, according to the report. The political leanings of UConn professors are even more skewed: Faculty and staff gave 93 percent of their political donations ($44,360) to Democratic candidates and a mere seven percent ($3,323) to Republicans in the 2008 presidential election.??"America's colleges and universities are dominated by liberals, and the University of Connecticut is no different," said Morton Blackwell, president of the Leadership Institute and founder of CampusReform.org. "Too often, the campus left uses its power to indoctrinate the next generation."
