WASHINGTON: The US Department of Labor has cited the Stamford- Bridgeport metro in the bottom third of US regions for job creating in July.
The region had a 1% increase in jobs  compared to the previous year.
The New Haven area led Connecticut 5,500 jobs increased a 2% gain, New London increased 1.8% percent and Danbury 1.4 %.
The fastest job producer in the country was St. George, Utah, in the southeast corner of that state, with a 6.2% increase in jobs. Durham, N.H. led the Northeast with a 4.2% increase.
