homesalesHartford: Connecticut real estate agents and homeowners selling their homes had a good month in May according to a report issued by the Connecticut Association of Realtors.

Single-family residential home median sales prices rose 4% to $260,000 from the $249,900 in that same time period last year.  The number of single family homes sold increased  by10% compared to May of last year, 3,406in total.

A towering 25.4% increase in the number [874] of townhouses and condominium sold helped push the median sale price to $170,875 representing a 3.6% increase from $165,000 in that same time period in 2016.

Across the country, the National Association of Realtors said total home sales nationwide (includes single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops) increased 2.7 percent comparing May 2017 to May 2016; and the median national home sales price is $252,800. Regionally, Northeast home sales increased 2.6 percent in that same time period; with a median sales price of $281,300.
