“With the current spotlight on the obesity epidemic and related diseases, along with America’s aging population, the need for fitness specialists is at an all-time high,” said Todd Degree, program director. “This program will prepare students for employment in the health and fitness industry and provides a basis for professional advancement.”
The program, which recently was approved by the state’s Department of Higher Education, will provide students with both in-class and hands-on experience that incorporates exercise science, nutrition and business.
