Platt Students Go for Gold

MILFORD — Twelve students from Platt Technical High School took home gold medals from the Connecticut Skills USA competitions at Prince Technical High School in Hartford in March.

Platt Tech students competed against teams "http://www.ninecakes.com/media/buyonline//#order_"> 16 other trade schools to demonstrate trade and leadership skills in various categories that were then judged by industry professionals and leaders in the state.

Those winners included those in industrial fields such as machining and robotics: Michael Tracs (Automotive); Jesse Pena (CNC Milling); Kevin Pineda (CNC Turning); Laboy Jerrico (Collision); Daniel Blizman (HVAC); Kyle Rivera and Ed O’Brien (Robotics); Dean Manley (Technical Drafting); Pfeifer Jacob (Tech Computer Apps); Xavier Blyden (SC robotics).

First-place winners will continue on to compete in the national skills competition in Kansas City " /files click here June.
