WEST HARTFORD - United Tool & Die (UTD) announced it is "joining the Boeing Company as a key Connecticut partner" for the production of the proposed Aerial Refueling Tanker.

Boeing and its subcontracting "partners" are competing for a U.S. Air Force contract to build a new fleet of aerial refueling tankers. UTD is a manufacturer of aerospace tube and duct and sheet metal components for commercial and military aircraft.

Said UTD President Charles Zien, "By joining the Boeing tanker team, we are not only helping to strengthen our national defense and our men and women in the armed forces, but also ensuring that family-owned small businesses like ours continue to be engines of economic growth and prosperity in Connecticut and across the nation."

Boeing says it works with more than 250 companies in Connecticut, paying more than $1.1 billion for services and products. To learn more about UTD, visit utdco.com. For more information on the tanker program visit unitedstatestanker.com.
