BERLIN - Northeast Utilities is the newest sponsor of the state's annual robotics competition, Connecticut FIRST. NU purchased the title sponsorship for the next three years. In addition, the Northeast Utilities Foundation will pledge $300,000 to fund the event through 2012. The Connecticut FIRST competition, which draws thousands of high school students from across the state to demonstrate their technical knowledge and abilities using homemade machines, will take place in April at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
