SHELTON - Opel Solar Inc., a developer and supplier of high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar panels and solar tracking devices, announced it is qualifying a number of manufacturing companies in nine states to build its product line in North America. A company release said that the plan will "contribute to the growth of jobs and the green economy." Manufacturing in both Canada and the United States will help Opel customers be eligible for solar incentives that require Ontario or U.S. job content for some portion of a project.

According to Francisco Middleton, Opel Solar's chief operating officer, "With so many industries declining recently, solar power represents a bright spot with potential for significant growth for many years to come."
