Investor Charges up Battery Company

Connecticut-based investor Wexford Capital has raised $35 million for International Battery, a U.S.-based rechargeable lithium-ion cell developer. The company will scale up its manufacturing plant in Allentown Pa. and support its engineering and sales efforts with the financing. Wexford division Digital Power Capital is a private equity firm that invests specifically in new electrical power and power conversion technologies.
