STARTFORD — The state’s Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Sikorsky Aircraft in its petition for tax exemption on certain product purchases between 1995 and 2002.
After state officials argued that the products were used for research and development rather than manufacturing helicopters, the Supreme Court justices found research and development to be a crucial part of Sikorsky’s manufacturing process. Sikorsky has been awarded the $916,600 in tax breaks it is accorded by law.
