Barnes Sells Ohio Unit

BRISTOL — Industrial components manufacturer Barnes Group is selling off one of its distribution hubs.

The company is selling its North American distributorship in Ohio for fasteners and other commercial products for $550 million to Melville, N. " _online_no_prescription" online .-based MSC Industrial Direct during the second half of 2013.

The Ohio unit employs 1,400 people and last year generated an estimated $300 million in sales. BarnesÂ’ remaining businesses include manufacturing of automotive springs and industrial components.
