Relief for Idled Workers

WETHERSFIELD — Workers who became unemployed because of Hurricane Sandy might be eligible for here Unemployment Assistance. The program is available for those hardest hit by the hurricane including, in Connecticut, residents of visit us Midddlesex, New Haven and New London counties, as well as the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Reservation. Benefit payments range from visit us minimum of $167 to a maximum of $648. To qualify for assistance, a person must be unemployed as a “direct result” of the hurricane, and he/she must not be eligible for any other unemployment insurance from the state.
