Date Albertus Magnus College has appointed Dr. Dean P. O'Connell, professor of philosophy at the College, to the new position of associate academic dean, overseeing the undergraduate day program and reporting to the vice president for academic affairs. O'Connell joined the Albertus Magnus faculty in 1987. He received his Ph.D. degree from Fordham University and has done postdoctoral study at Fordham, the University of California at Santa Cruz and Yale University. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the Catholic University of America. His book, "Outspeak: Narrating Identities that Matter," was published in 2001.
