NORTH HAVEN - H. Pearce Co., Realtors President and CEO Barbara Pearce was one of ten area women honored by the Girl Scouts of Connecticut at the group's annual Women of Achievement breakfast. The awards are given to prominent business and community leaders. Other recipients included Marna P. Borgstrom of Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dorsey Kendrick of Gateway Community College, Althea Marshall-Richardson of Empower New Haven and Peyton R. Patterson of NewAlliance Bank.

Pearce has chaired many non-profit boards, including United Way of Greater New Haven, Women Organizing Women Political Action Committee (WOWPAC), and the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. In 2009, she received the John H. Filer Award from the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy.

"I believe that we all have a responsibility to exert a leadership role our communities, make a difference in, and enhance the lives of those in need," Pearce said.
