
EAST HARTFORD — The Connecticut Technology Council has announced finalists for its January 20 Women of Innovation awards reception at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville.
The finalists by category, are:
• Academic Innovation & Leadership: Laurel Appel, adjunct associate professor of biology at Wesleyan University; Sarah Berke, director at CURE Bioscience Explorations in New Haven; Carmen Cid, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University; Michele Dischino, assistant professor at Central Connecticut State University; Marja Hurley, professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington; Honora Kenney, president of the Connecticut Invention Convention; and Linda Strausbaugh, professor at the University of Connecticut.

The 2010 finalists are being recognized for their work in the biotech, pharmaceuticals, software, computer hardware, nanotech, advanced materials, medical devices and IT industries.
