Connecticut Solar Lease

The nation's first, rate payer-supported residential leasing program for solar energy. The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund and Connecticut Solar Leasing, LLC have combined the CCEF's Solar Rebate program with leasing to create a way for qualifying homeowner customers of Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating to add solar energy to their homes for the lowest possible cost. Open to New Haven residents and businesses and institutions which generate small quantities of recyclables. No recyclables will be collected on bulk appointments. Quantities of recyclables that exceed the capacity of blue bins must be taken to the Recycling Center. Recyclables are defined as: Plastics #'s 1 through 7, Glass Food Jars, Corrugated Cardboard, Mixed White Paper, Newspaper, Scrap Metal and Waste Oil. EMPLOYMENT

Green Job Training Funds Available

Federal Training Funds are available for employers who hire new workers for green jobs, and many other jobs, as well. Cash reimbursements for the new employee's training period can amount to 90% of salary during training for companies with fewer than 50 employees. Companies with 51-250 employees can receive a 75% cash payment for salary during training, and larger companies can receive 50%. In addition, companies interested in hiring certified weatherization technicians can get recently trained individuals, and still take advantage of further on-the-job training incentives.
