Connecticut Innovation invested $800,000 of a total $4 million in private financing received by CyVek Inc., a Wallingford based bioscience company, in May. CyVek is "developing of a platform for measuring analytes in biological samples", and plans to expand in the life sciences and clinical diagnostics fields. This investment is part of a $4 million second round of venture capital involving individual investors. Earlier this year the start-up netted $1.95 million through a private equity offering.
