SHELTON — Opel Solar Inc. seeks to turn idle brownfields into solar energy hubs for nearby communities. With an estimated 4,000 unused former industrial sites nationwide, the company sees a potential to spread renewable energy by utilizing the no-longer-productive parcels of land.
