Shelton software maker’s fifth deal in 12 months

SHELTON — Fast-growing iMedX Inc., a health-care software and services company, has executed its fifth acquisition in just 12 months — and in so doing extended its customer base into the deep South.

Earlier this month the Shelton firm announced that it had acquired the assets of MedTech Transcriptions Inc. (MedTech), a medical transcription company serving medical clinics in Louisiana for more than 15 years. MedTech’s production and customer service teams will augment iMedX’s staff to service clients nationwide, the company said.

iMedX’s President and CEO Venkat Sharma, along with the current iMedX management team, will continue to lead the combined companies. MedTech’s founder and CEO, Bruce Bonar, will work with iMedX through the transition and assist iMedX in expanding its customer base in the region.

iMedX’s proprietary TurboScribe software platform for medical transcription is designed for efficient transcription workflow and ease of management. TurboScribe’s integration with leading Electronic Medical Record (EMR) products is designed to allow customers to progress towards a paperless environment, higher quality of care and pave the way for adherence to the Obama administration’s ‘meaningful use’ guidelines.

“With the growth of federal government requirements for technology in health care, many small transcription companies are realizing they lack the resources to keep pace,” said Sharma. “Forward-thinking companies such as iMedX, with a scalable and seamless worldwide workforce and powerful technology to automate medical documentation management, are instrumental in achieving significant improvement in the quality of care. As the Obama administration’s ‘meaningful use’ guidelines continue to evolve, it is imperative to use the online delivery and portability of medical documentation that iMedX provides.”

Added Sharma: “As our fifth acquisition in the past 12 months, this acquisition is an essential part of our strategy to grow through direct sales and acquisitions as well as propagate TurboScribe software throughout our transcription customer base — concurrently rolling out other products to help the physician lower costs and increase revenues. iMedX intends to grow into a major force in the clinical documentation software and services industry through this strategy.”

Said Doug Rivers, CEO of YouGov, U.S.: "Harrison Group's expertise in addressing corporate branding and segmentation issues will help us to further develop our range of syndicated products which provide accurate real time data to corporate decision makers."

With the addition of Harrison Group, YouGov employees now number in excess of 80 in the U.S. and more than 450 people worldwide. YouGov operates in North America, Europe and the Middle East.

\cutline\Harrison looks to develop ‘innovative research products’ with his new partners.
